SAFETY:
How is slip resistance measured? Measuring slip resistance involves the minimum tangential force necessary to initiate sliding of a body over the surface and the body gravity force. The coefficient of friction (COF) between the two surfaces is the ratio of the horizontal and vertical forces required to move one surface over another to the total force pressing the two surfaces together (source: ADA Advisory Board). The ADA Guideline recommends a 0.6 or higher in dry conditions to meet ADA requirements. In addition, the ADA recommendation for COF on a ramped surface is 0.8. QuartzDek® boasts a standing coefficient of .93 dry and .8 wet, culminating COF measurements well above recommendations and standards.

PERFORMANCE:
QuartzDek® is formulated specifically for high impact and abrasion resistance. QuartzDek® is flexible, thereby allowing for expansion and contraction of the substrate, as well as slip-resistant. QuartzDek® is colorfast and when completely cured, the compression strength of QuartzDek® exceeds 7,000 psi (average concrete coatings yield compression strengths of 4,000 psi). Apart from your common decorative coating systems, QuartzDek® is breathable, allowing moisture beneath the coating to escape in the form of water vapor, while preventing liquid moisture from culminating between the substrate and finish. Coupled with features such as low maintenance advantages and extreme durability, QuartzDek® is impervious to water penetration and surface intrusion, thereby eliminating the proliferation of harmful bacteria and the growth of mold or mildew.

COLORFAST:
QuartzDek® is completely colorfast, whereas most decorative coating systems do not offer UV stability, particularly resistance to color degradation. QuartzDek® is designed with quartz instead of cement, specifically combining quartz and both natural and synthetic concentrates which comprise a proprietary resin. Quartz is essentially a mineral and contains no color additives, dyes, or color pigments. As such, when quartz is suffused with the right binder, this state-of-the-art chemistry assures long term colorfastness and guarantees no color shift through the life cycle of the product variant-quartz.

EASY TO MAINTAIN:
QuartzDek® is easy to maintain. The frequency and method of cleaning QuartzDek® is varied, specifically from one application to another. However, the most common cleaning method is simply applying a light detergent (light detergents are effective at removing most common stains), followed by a quick rinse with any water hose. For commercial applications or applications with considerable exposure, a pressure washer may be more suitable and is also very effective for cleaning the surface and removing common stains.
